Senior Quantitative IT Consultant / Expert – Risk Project

Duration: Minimum 1 year | Start date: Mid-January 2026 | Location: Paris | Daily rate: Varies depending on experience

We are looking for a consultant IT Quant Senior / Expert on behalf of one of our banking clients, within the framework of a project to transform the tools used to calculate risk models.

Context

The Risk Management department, within its Validation division, is leading a strategic project to migrate several calculation modules (stress tests, budget projections, simulations, etc.) to a new tool based on an environment Python.
This project is part of a demanding regulatory framework, in particular IFRS 9, with significant challenges in terms of robustness, performance and security of the models.

Roles and responsibilities

• Leading the risk model transformation and migration project
• Actively participate in the scoping phase and the definition of the target solution
• Guiding methodological and technical choices in the Python environment
• Optimize the use of data and modeling and valuation libraries
• Structure the work and ensure the overall coherence of the system
• Ensure project monitoring and the quality of deliverables

Required Skills

Functional:

• Proven experience in managing risk projects in a banking environment
• Solid knowledge of regulatory issues, in particular IFRS 9
• Very good understanding of credit and/or market risk models 

Techniques:

• Excellent command of development in Python
• Expertise in statistical calculations, projections and simulations (VaR, stress testing, backtesting)
• Experience with projection and valuation models
• Strong interest in optimizing and industrializing calculation processes

Mission Details

• Duration: long-term assignment (12 months)
• Start date: as early as January
• Workload: full-time for 6 months, then part-time at the end of the assignment (to be confirmed with the client)
• Mission location: France
• Status: Independent consultant / Freelance
• Daily rate: depending on profile
