Test Strategy Lead (Technology – Riyadh)

We are looking for 1 experienced Freelancer Test Strategy Lead to support a key client in Riyadh, helping to define and implement a fit-for-purpose testing strategy and automation setup.
The role requires deep expertise in test strategy, automation tools, and tailoring testing approaches to project needs.
Objectives
- Define a comprehensive and scalable test strategy
- Set up a modern test automation framework
- Right-size testing efforts across projects and teams
Roles and Responsibilities
Test Strategy & Framework Design
- Conduct assessment of current testing maturity and tools
- Design an end-to-end test strategy, covering manual, automated, and integration testing
- Define test governance, metrics, and reporting structure
Automation & Optimization
- Establish a reusable automation framework (eg, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent)
- Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Identify optimization opportunities and reduce redundant test efforts
Knowledge Transfer & Collaboration
- Work closely with QA, development, and DevOps teams
- Provide coaching and handover of framework/tools to internal staff
- Document best practices and testing playbooks

- Optimization Plan and Right-Sizing Recommendations
- Handover Kit and Training Sessions
Required Skills
- 8+ years experience in QA/Test Leadership roles
- Proven track record in defining test strategies for complex programs
- Experience with test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) and frameworks
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps testing integration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus
- Based in Riyadh and available for immediate mobilization
