Finance Transformation Program Director – Insurance Sector

Duration: Minimum 6 months | Start date: ASAP | Location: Paris | Daily rate: Based on experience

 

We are looking for a Finance Transformation Program Director on behalf of one of our clients in the insurance sector as part of a Group Finance strategic transformation program.

The program aims to transform and harmonize the Finance function internationally through the standardization of processes, the convergence of Finance information systems and the modernization of reporting, consolidation and financial management capabilities.

The consultant will operate in a high-visibility environment, with regular interactions with senior management, Group Finance teams and IT Finance liaisons.

 

Context

As part of a large-scale Finance transformation program, our client is undertaking a complete overhaul of its Finance operating model and its Finance IT system. The key issues include, in particular, theharmonization of accounting and financial processes between entities, the convergence of data models and the Group chart of accounts, there modernization of reporting and consolidation tools, as well as support for regulatory changes IFRS 17 / IFRS 9.

The program is based on a logic of centralization, pooling and improvement of the quality of financial data, with strong expectations in terms of governance, cross-functional management and alignment between Finance functions and IT teams.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Leading a strategic transformation program for Group Finance
  • Ensure overall governance of the program and management of the Finance and IT Finance streams
  • Interacting with members of the Executive Committee, Group sponsors, and business units
  • Supporting accounting and finance departments in managing change
  • Securing communication between the Finance, Data and IT teams
  • Oversee matters related to the harmonization of Finance processes and the Group Chart of Accounts
  • Contributing to the convergence of Finance platforms and tools (EPM, consolidation, reporting, finance data)
  • Monitor the regulatory issues associated with IFRS 17 / IFRS 9 and financial reporting
  • Structuring action plans, managing risks, and ensuring executive reporting
  • Ensuring alignment between the target trajectory, operational challenges and the Group's expectations

 

Skills & profile sought

  • Significant experience in program management Finance transformation in the sector insurance or banking
  • Strong exposure to Group Finance programs internationals
  • Mastering the issues of transformation of the Finance IT system and some Finance operational models
  • Good understanding of the issues IFRS 17 / IFRS 9, consolidation and regulatory reporting
  • Experience with EPM / Finance Data / consolidation tools environments
  • Ability to interact with interlocutors of COMEX level and Group Management
  • Excellent governance, coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven leadership in complex and high-risk environments
  • Ability to reassure and unite business and IT teams
