We are looking for an experienced ESG Freelance Expert<\/strong> to support our client, a leader bank<\/strong>, in developing and implementing sustainable finance strategies, ESG risk frameworks, and regulatory compliance measures<\/strong>. The role involves aligning the bank's ESG policies with global sustainability standards<\/strong>, integrating ESG into risk management and investment strategies<\/strong>, and ensuring compliance with regional and international ESG regulations.<\/p>\n

The ESG Expert will work closely with senior leadership, risk teams, and regulators<\/strong> to embed sustainability into the bank's corporate governance, lending practices, and reporting frameworks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The mission is to enhance ESG integration across banking operations, drive green finance initiatives, and ensure compliance with UAE and KSA sustainability regulations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Roles and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    ESG Strategy & Sustainable Finance<\/strong><\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG framework<\/strong> tailored to banking operations.<\/li>\n
    • Align ESG policies with local and international sustainability standards<\/strong> (eg, UAE Sustainable Finance Framework, SASB, TCFD, GRI, IFRS S1\/S2).<\/li>\n
    • Integrate ESG criteria into lending and investment decision-making<\/strong> to promote responsible banking practices.<\/li>\n
    • Support the development of green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, and ESG investment products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Assess climate-related financial risks<\/strong> and incorporate them into risk management frameworks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Regulatory Compliance & Governance<\/strong><\/h4>\n
        \n
      • Ensure adherence to regional and international ESG regulations<\/strong>, including CBUAE (Central Bank of UAE), SAMA (Saudi Central Bank), and global reporting standards<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • Develop and oversee ESG risk governance structures<\/strong> across banking operations.<\/li>\n
      • Conduct ESG due diligence<\/strong> on corporate and institutional clients to mitigate financial and reputational risks.<\/li>\n
      • Implement sustainability reporting frameworks<\/strong> in compliance with EU Taxonomy, IFRS Sustainability Standards, and Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA) commitments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting<\/strong><\/h4>\n

        • Work with C-suite executives, regulators, institutional investors, and ESG rating agencies<\/strong> to strengthen sustainability initiatives.<\/li>\n
        • Lead ESG disclosures, sustainability reports, and investor presentations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        • Educate internal teams on ESG risk factors, sustainable finance trends, and climate-related reporting obligations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        • Engage with corporate clients to support their transition towards ESG-aligned financing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Climate Risk & Sustainable Banking Practices<\/strong><\/h4>\n
            \n
          • Conduct climate stress testing and scenario analysis<\/strong> to assess financial exposure to ESG risks.<\/li>\n
          • Implement decarbonization strategies<\/strong> for financed emissions in alignment with Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA)<\/strong> targets.<\/li>\n
          • Promote sustainable supply chain finance<\/strong>, supporting corporate clients in their ESG transitions.<\/li>\n
          • Develop a biodiversity and social responsibility impact assessment<\/strong> framework for banking operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Deliverables:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            • Detailed business & functional requirement documents (BRD, FSD).<\/li>\n
            • \u00a0Bank-wide ESG framework and governance model<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
            • ESG risk assessment and compliance roadmap<\/strong> for regulatory alignment.<\/li>\n
            • Green finance strategy and sustainability-linked investment products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
            • ESG reporting structures and investor disclosures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
            • Climate risk management framework<\/strong> and decarbonization strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Required Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • 5+ years of experience<\/strong> as a Business Analyst in Banking & Payments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • Extensive experience in ESG strategy, sustainable finance, and regulatory compliance<\/strong> within banking.<\/li>\n
              • Strong knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks<\/strong> (SASB, TCFD, GRI, IFRS S1\/S2, EU Taxonomy).<\/li>\n
              • Experience in green finance, climate risk management, and sustainable investment products<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • Ability to engage with regulators, institutional investors, and senior banking executives<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • Strong understanding of climate-related financial risks and net-zero banking commitments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
              • Expertise in ESG risk integration within credit assessments, lending, and investment portfolios<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
